Population growth is debated upon in the context of who or what to blame, how to combat it, or how to slow it down especially in areas that are getting crowded and lacking in support from the government. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) advocates sexual and reproductive health rights so that anyone’s quality of living is not compromised.

IPPF campaigns for reproductive rights to be acknowledged internationally, for women to be aware of their reproductive being and take control of it, for equality to exist between genders and for people to be presented with well informed choices.

Although conflicts and disparities may arise from conservative groups, which have existed ever since they started, IPPF strengthens their partnership with individuals who share their vision to push forth with their beliefs and face whoever may wish to trample on the said rights.

All in all, the organization’s work can be summed up in 5 A’s, the first of which is abortion. Since unwanted pregnancies may either be acknowledged or reduced to unsafe means, IPPF wishes to lower the occurrence of fatalities or injuries when women resort to (or are forced) underground methods. Second is access, which will inform and educate people with their choices.

IPPF also targets adolescents. The organization is aware that humans are curious by nature, with intimacy levels varying according to their feelings for another person or a subject of interest. No one can take away this trait, it can only be controlled. IPPF believes that the young should be able to access contraceptives and not be met with judgment and discrimination, as if it is a crime or an incurable disease.

IPPF also promotes advocacy. They campaign for the international recognition of rights and the removal of barriers in terms of easy access to reproductive health services.

Last but not the least is AIDS/HIV. Their goal is to reduce incidence worldwide by spreading awareness on sexuality and going the extra mile to acknowledge safety precautions and preventive measures.

By addressing these key areas, IPPF makes strides in the advancement of reproductive health rights.
