Registered on February 25, 2009, Age UK, is a charity in the United Kingdom that focuses on the elderly people. The organization combines the efforts of Help the Aged and the Age Concern and is now considered the largest charity in the country for older people. 

The merger of the two charitable institutions is among the largest in charities in the United Kingdom. The current brand name was not used until April 2010. Tracing the history of the two charitable entities will go back to the year 1940 with the inception of the Old People’s Welfare Committee (OPWC) which will eventually become the Age Concern. Help the Aged aims to free disadvantaged people from isolation, neglect and poverty since its creation in 1961. 

Age UK underscores the need for kindness and respect to the elderly people. It promises to be there for everyone in later life and improve the quality of living through their services, campaigns, products, training, research, information and advice.
