The American Red Cross of Central
Texas and its committed volunteers work toward providing assistance to
neighborhoods in crisis and, in so doing, provide hope and comfort to people.
The organization has certainly been active in the region because of the manmade
accidents and natural disasters that have befallen the area and its surrounding
regions.
While the organization was first
established in 1916 as the Travis County Chapter, its present name was adopted
only in 2011. No matter its name, however, the Red Cross chapter has delivered
on its mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering during emergencies
by deploying its volunteers to affected areas.
But the independent non-profit
organization needs the time, talent and resources of generous donors for its
programs and projects. Its high rate of efficiency – 91 cents of every dollar
contributed are invested in its humanitarian programs including Disaster Services,
International Services, and Preparedness, Health and Safety Services - make the
American Red Cross of Central Texas
one of the best organizations for donations.
