Angel’s Place was established in 1984 to
help single parents from low-income families in Pittsburgh to continue with
their education in order to ensure a brighter future for their children. The
organization aims to address the problem of poverty among single-parent families,
most of which have parents that have not finished school and can’t get a good
job.
From a single location,
Angel’s Place has expanded over the years and has built two more centers across
the city. This enables more single mothers and fathers to get the help they
need in order to finish school and get a job that can help support their
families.
Located in North Side,
Brookline, and Swissvale, single mothers and fathers can drop their children
off at the centers for free child care while they pursue their education or
find employment that can satisfy their needs as a family unit. These centers
also provide support programs for the family and courses on parenting, life
skills, nutrition, and child safety practices.
