The CEDARS Home for
Children Foundation is
geared towards helping children who are victims of abuse, neglect and
homelessness, grow in a shelter that embraces them with safety, stability and
enduring family relationships. The organization was started in 1947 by the Reverend Charles and Alberta Danner when they opened their doors to the young and homeless.
CEDARS continues the legacy of Reverend Danner
to build a place for children to “experience real childhood and begin planning
for the future”. The kind gesture of
opening doors to helpless children which happened more than 60 years ago lives
on with thousands of children being served by CEDARS. Not just limited to
providing shelter, CEDARS teach the youth with life skills in order for them to
adapt to an ever changing world.
Despite the
harsh reality of poverty, proliferation of drug use, disease, criminality and
neglect, CEDARS provides the bright light of hope to the young who are in need
and to their families who struggle to stay.
