CEDARS (Home for Kids) is a
non-profit 501 © (3) organization that aims to serve as a safe and secure haven
for more than 3,500 children and youth annually. A United Way partner, it is
also a top-rated charity recognized by the American Institute of Philanthropy,
a nationally renowned charity watchdog organization.
In a nutshell, CEDARS exists to help
children who have been neglected, abused, and left homeless acquire security
and safety. It is also dedicated to promoting lasting family relationships. The
organization was established by Reverend Charles and Alberta Danner in 1974.
After about six decades since the Danners’ act of kindness and exhibition of
passion, the organization still continues to fulfill its vision of creating a
place where children can freely experience a real, happy childhood and sooner
or later, begin planning for their bright future. They offer the assistance
that many children need in order for them to have the skills necessary in adapting
to the fast-paced world.
