A prominent businessman who owns and oversees Chicago-based large scale transportation firm The Custom Companies, Inc., Perry Mandera derives a great deal of personal satisfaction from the many philanthropic projects and community betterment endeavors he undertakes. Aside from heading Custom Cares Charities, an organization affiliated with The Custom Companies that facilitates meaningful initiatives to benefit children, Mr. Mandera donates to a host of non-profit groups that include Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Special Olympics, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Youth Burn Camp, and the Erie House St. Joseph Day Food Handout. In recent years, Perry Mandera also made contributions to the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation, The American Cancer Society, the Save Our Seniors Foundation, and WBBM News Radio Drug & Alcohol Prevention, among numerous other worthy causes. Additionally, he helped fund relief efforts to aid families whose lives were devastated as a result of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Wilma.

Despite the demands of his busy schedule, Perry still finds time to serve on the Board of Directors for the Walter & Connie Payton Foundation (WCPF), an organization that assists abused, neglected, and underprivileged young people. Established by famed Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton and his wife, WCPF strives to provide a safe and nurturing space where children can heal their emotional wounds and develop the life skills necessary for future success. To accomplish this goal, the foundation collaborates with a select group of social service agencies in the state of Illinois to extend much needed support to approximately 16,000 children. Partnering with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), WCPF organizes an annual Holiday Giving Program focused on collecting and distributing gifts to boys and girls who lack a solid family structure.
