Convoy of Hope is a faith-based non-profit organization that has been spreading hope and giving help for almost two decades now. They reach to their beneficiaries by facilitating children’s feeding and community outreach programs. They also offer assistance during disasters. Since establishment, they have already served over 55 million people across the world.

Convoy of Hope was formed in 1994 and slowly, it has developed into a global movement that collaborated with government agencies, businesses, churches, and other organizations. These institutions assist in carrying out Convoy’s primary mission, which is to feed the hungry individuals and communities through various feeding initiatives and similar programs.

The non-profit is spearheaded by President Hal Donaldson, who understands how powerful compassion can be. In 1969, Hal’s father and mother were hit by a drunk driver. His dad was killed while his mother was left incapacitated for some period of time. Hal and his siblings, at an early age, learned how to live without some of life’s basic needs. Thankfully, they received assistance from the local community and churches. This inspired Hal to give back to the community when he was already able and capable.

Convoy of Hope reaches out to its beneficiaries through children’s feeding initiatives wherein children from less fortunate communities are given clean and safe water and food, and community leaders are taught agricultural techniques, enabling them to support their constituents’ needs in the future.

The organization also holds about 50 outreach programs in different communities in the US. With the help of numerous volunteers, they are able to serve thousands of participants. In the programs, free groceries and activities for children are provided. Health and career fairs are also held.

Furthermore, Convoy of Hope is also considered a “first responder” when it comes to disaster relief. With their fleet of tractor-trailers, an advanced Mobile Command Center, a 300,000 sq.ft. warehouse, and a scalable distribution strategy, they are able to provide the guidance that communities need in times of disasters.
