The Fortune
Society is a believer of one’s potential, even though
it was developed only after the first chance is used up. The non-profit social
service and advocacy organization helps build a community that gives chances
for the formerly imprisoned so that they will re-enter society as changed
individuals out to do good.
With a service
model that has been proven and tested for the past
40 years and counting, Fortune guarantees a program that is done by
professionals and culturally aware of mentors who can relate well to the formerly
incarcerated. With the enrollees coming from different backgrounds, it is
important to make them feel at home to make the learning process easier.
Since
people who have once committed crimes may be tempted to be lured into doing bad
things again, The Fortune Society believes that with proper implementation of
the programs, they could build a strong foundation that will strengthen the
faith of once wayward people.
