She may be one of the world's
most-coveted faces and the highest-paid model in the world today, but Gisele Bundchen has proven that she's
more than just a gorgeous face and a beautiful body. The Brazilian fashion
model turned actress and producer is currently the United Nations Environment
Programme Goodwill Ambassador, and has contributed thousands towards charitable
causes such as Brazil's Zero Hunger program, the protection of the Amazon
Rainforest water sources and several non-profit organizations in her native
Brazil.
Aside from these, Gisele
Bundchen designed a limited edition of necklaces for Harper's Bazaar in
order to raise funds for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, took part
in the I am African campaign against AIDS/HIV and was the spokesperson for
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. Bundchen
opened The Luz Foundation in 2007, an organization that seeks to empower young
girls through projects and grants. The model has also visited various countries
on goodwill missions and has since maintained her efforts at helping the world
by addressing various social and environmental issues.
