A
non-government, non-profit, health promotion organization headquartered in
Sydney, Australia, Healthy
Kids School Canteen Association aims to promote and ensure the provision of
healthy and nutritious foods in school cafeterias, as a response to the alarmingly
high numbers of children suffering from diet-related illnesses and disorders as
well as to build a solid foundation for a bright and healthy future.
Working on the
premise that children and teenagers are experiencing rapid physical,
psychological, emotional and social growth, and that various nutritional needs
must be met on a daily basis to support such massive changes, Healthy Kids
School Canteen Association partners with schools to make sure that all nutrient
and energy requirements are fully met in the food being served at school canteens.
Through this,
Healthy Kids School Canteen Association makes certain that students will be
provided with the nutrients necessary to prevent diet-related diseases, reduce
obesity and grow as healthy and fit adults.
