There are many organizations that aim to protect and preserve the environment. However, few have made a big difference. The Nature Conservancy is an organization that has successfully advocated on behalf of the environment. One notable aspect about Nature Conservancy is that  – while other organizations engage in inflammatory rhetoric to get support – it seeks to accomplish political engagement by proposing workable solutions.

The organization deploys a science-based approach for solving environment problems. It employs more than 700 scientists and technicians for this purpose.  Nature Conservancy focuses on several conservation areas, including repairing the ecosystem, preserving rainforests, protecting coral reefs and creating solutions to disruptions caused by climate change.

It works with various sectors of society – communities, government agencies, businesses, individuals and other non-profit organizations – to achieve its aims. Nature Conservancy also recognizes the threat that is posed to the ecosystem by non-native plants and animals. As a result, it implements targeted programs that restore the natural balance of the environment.

The Nature Conservancy was founded in 1951. It is a US-based organization that has since expanded to more than 30 countries. It is estimated that through its work, 17 acres in the United States, and 117 million acres in other countries, have been conserved. The success of its programs has encouraged over a million members to join.

The success of Nature Conservancy has made it one of the biggest non-profit organizations in the United States, in terms of both assets and revenue. It draws support from community groups throughout the country.
