In an effort to raise awareness of worthy causes and non-profit groups, Charity Watcher posted in early November about the environmental group, Nature Conservancy. The organization has actively fought to protect ecosystems and habitats. Initially, the Nature Conservancy worked within the United States, but has since extended its reach to more than 30 countries. Charity Watcher has learned that the group is spearheading what it calls the “Campaign for a Sustainable Planet,” the largest conservation campaign in history.

Prior to its Campaign for a Sustainable Planet, the Nature Conservancy’s efforts involved the preservation of areas like rainforests and wetlands. Now, the organization expands its focus to include marine areas such as oceans, lakes, and rivers. The Nature Conservancy hopes to preserve these troubled spots through a number of key strategies, like the improved management of fisheries.

With the Campaign for a Sustainable Planet, the Nature Conservancy hopes to accomplish two things. The first is a stable climate stocked with natural resources which are plentiful, renewable, and secure. The second is the union of human communities and natural habitats. Hopefully, readers will rally behind this environmental initiative and gather support for the Nature Conservancy’s endeavors. More information about the Campaign for a Sustainable Planet can be found on the Nature Conservancy’s website.
