Part of being a good Christian is
acting like one, and one of the pillars of Christianity is all about sharing
our blessings to those in need. This is what The 700 Club host M.G. Robinson
aimed to achieve when he founded Operation Blessing in 1978.
It all began when viewers of the
popular television program donated food, clothing and other items through the
show to be delivered to deserving individuals and families in dire need of
help. Over time, the organization joined forces with church groups and other
charitable organizations and created a wider-reaching network of people helping
other people rebuild their lives. By 1990, Operation Blessing expanded to
funding outreach centers and other charity programs across America to provide
help to more people. Today, Operation Blessing has spread its wings and now
operates in 23 countries around the world including poverty and disaster stricken countries through hunger and disaster relief
and community building operations.
