Practicing Corporate Responsibility: Virgin Unite

The Virgin Group is one of the world’s largest conglomerates, with its head, Richard Branson, listed as one of the wealthiest men on earth. Virgin Unite is the company’s charitable institution, working under the charity, The Virgin Foundation.

Virgin Unite campaigns to end, prevent and treat three of the world’s leading health problems: malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS. The charity also hosts the Heavens Angels venture. Executives and employees of the Virgin Group, along with their associated companies and partners, work with small, charitable organizations and institutions to make sustainable changes in addressing these health problems, as well as other social and environmental issues that various countries are now facing. The Virgin Group of companies fully operates the costs of running Virgin Unite, meaning all of its funding goes directly to its various programs and campaigns. One of these is a regular auction on eBay, the proceeds of which go directly to making sure that Virgin Unite helps the world become a better place.
