Music has the power to heal. That was the driving force behind Play for Life, a music initiative created by RockCouture
Productions and operated by Clear Channel Radio, in partnership with City of Hope, a National Cancer
Institute-designated cancer center dedicated to finding cures for the world's
worst diseases, specifically cancer. City of Hope pioneers research and
technology aimed towards saving lives all over the world.
Play for Life began in 2011, a collaboration of some forty music artists, producers
and directors in an all-star auction. The auction included the chance for
people to meet their favorite artists and be a part of behind-the-scenes coverages,
as well as taking home autographed items or items owned by participating
artists. Among the more popular names involved in Play for Life were
Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Matthew Morrison, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Carrie
Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Enrique Iglesias, Linkin Park, Coldplay, Colbie
Caillat, Bret Michaels, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Barry Manilow, the
Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block.
