Midwest Food Bank (MFB) has a vibrant mission of delivering hope, fighting hunger, and providing relief as well as to make a difference in the communities and create opportunities for volunteers. By sharing its blessings, the non-profit organization works toward the alleviation of food insecurity especially in poor communities and during disasters.

Started as a family-centered activity in 2003, the faith-based yet non-denominational non-profit organization has grown into a large operation with 6 warehouse locations across the Midwest as well as in South and East Africa. It serves more than 900 organizations with its food supplies reaching over 550,000 people each month.

Indeed, the Kieser family’s generosity of providing food for their less fortunate neighbors out of their family farm has become a worldwide movement. Today, the MFB has its own board of directors and an advisory board in each of its locations while each division also has paid staff members and volunteers.

Emphasis must be made that MFB is not a direct food pantry that caters to individuals and their families. Instead, the organization is a food bank and distribution center where its smaller counterparts can collect food supplies for their own programs.

MFB also provides food and disaster relief to regional, national and international locations. In this way, it aims to make a significant and positive impact on as many families across the globe as possible.

Its Tender Mercies Program addresses hunger and lack of nutrition with meals that combine healthy ingredients rich in micronutrients and macronutrients. Its Midwest Food Bank Foundation, which was established in 2014, has the goal of serving its donors with the integrity, honesty and credibility that they deserve. In the process, the parties change the lives of recipients and spread happiness by sharing their blessings to people in need.

Donations to MFB can be made via its website with each dollar used for the alleviation of hunger in many areas in the United States and abroad.
