24 Hours of Booty is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding cancer survivorship and navigation programs through a 24-hour cycling event. Local and national cancer organizations are the recipients of the funds raised by 24 Hours of Booty across four cities, namely, Charlotte, Columbia, Indianapolis, and Atlanta. In Charlotte, North Carolina, for example, the route traverses the Myers Park neighborhood.

The fundraising activities are centred on safe, fun and family-friendly cycling events for interested individuals regardless of their cycling abilities – or the lack thereof. The cycling events in each city are conducted on a traffic-free loop known as the Bootyloop.

The participants bring their own bicycles and unicycles, as well as a passion for fighting cancer together with their family, friends, and acquaintances, even strangers. The participants can ride, donate and volunteer at the event, thus, providing them with the opportunity to improve their health through exercise, broaden their personal network, and contribute to the betterment of the cancer community, among other benefits.

Everybody can participate in the 24-hour cycling event since participants can choose whether to ride their bikes for the entire loop or for just part of the event, either as solo riders or in tandem bikes. Many people will host neighborhood cheer parties, hang out in Bootyville, and join in on the fun with family and friends instead of riding bikes.

Teams consisting of at least 2 riders can also participate; participants come from across the United States for the event. The riders can participate for entire 24-hour event or ride a few laps depending on their preference but everybody is encouraged to enjoy.

While 24 Hours of Booty tackles a serious issue – the scourge of cancer – the vibe at each of the Booty Loops is fun. Riders are allowed to set up campsites along Bootyville, which also serves as the expo site for corporate sponsors to offer their range of services, provide information, and raffle prizes.
