Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund Honors and Supports Our Heroes
The organization’s programs and projects are funded entirely by contributions from the public – truly, a wholehearted support that our military personnel and their families appreciate. The general public can support the Intrepid Heroes Fund in many ways, such as making a tax-deductible donation, hosting fundraising events, and sharing the organization’s mission on social media and networking sites.
The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund believes in providing for comprehensive services to military veterans, personnel and their families when and where possible. Their programs and projects include:
- Family Support, which has provided nearly $20 million in financial benefits to families of military personnel who died in the line of duty mostly in Afghanistan and Iraq. The program ran from 2000 to 2005 whereupon it was redirected for the services of the severely injured personnel.
- The Center for the Intrepid, which provides for state-of-the-art facilities for physical rehabilitation for military personnel with catastrophic injuries sustained during combat and normal operations. The 60,000-square feet center is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
- The National Intrepid Center of Excellence, which provides for advanced diagnostic, treatment and integration services for military personnel with traumatic brain injury. The center also conducts research, provides training and education, and tests new treatments for the condition.
- Intrepid Spirit, which is a program designed to build several centers acting as satellites to the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. Donations will be appreciated as many centers are still on the drawing board pending funds inflow.
Indeed, every American can honor and support the modern-day heroes of the military who have given their limb and life in the service of the nation – and that includes you.
