The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. is an organization that helps African American communities improve and uplift their lives through mentoring and education. They provide mentoring services to young people to help them develop into productive members of society. They also provide scholarships to deserving kids and make sure that children with special educational and behavioral needs are given the attention they need. The organization also has programs that promote health and wellness and economic empowerment within the communities they support.

The first 100 Black Men organization was formed in New York in 1963 by a group of prominent African American men who had a genuine concern for the lives of the people in their community. Several years later, one of the founders of the organization moved from New York to New Jersey and formed a similar group. This move prompted other African American communities to form their own chapters of the 100 Black Men in their communities. The movement spread like wildfire across the nation and by the 1980s, these individual chapters would meet to discuss how to streamline and improve programs implemented and to talk about creating an umbrella organization that would govern over the chapters scattered all over the country.  In 1986, the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. was formally founded with the presidents, along with two members of each chapter serving in the National Steering Committee to make sure that everyone is heard.

Decades later, the 100 Black Men of America, Inc. is still growing and going strong. The organization now has over 100 chapters across the United States and has tens of thousands of members. The chapters are not just confined to the US as they have also expanded to the Caribbean and England as well. Every year, over 100,000 youth join their mentoring program who would go on and change their lives for the better.
