According to the official website, “Elysium” means “a place or condition of ideal happiness”. Happiness is what The Art of Elysium has indeed been gearing towards its goal of giving children with serious medical conditions a chance to shine. This non-profit organization has a pool of volunteer artists who work with children in various performing arts workshops and activities. These workshops are tailored to help children cope with the emotional difficulties, illnesses and hospitalization can bring, give these children opportunities to socialize, grow and develop, encourage them to hone their talents and skills and expose them to the many disciplines of the arts.

The Art of Elysium has programs in Fine Arts, Music, Fashion Design, Media/Theatre Arts and Arts-Based Self-Esteem Programs. Through the foundation, artists and celebrated personalities work in both inpatient and outpatient environments, providing comfort as well as knowledge to the children and also to their families. The foundation also hosts and partners with other groups to hold events such as fine arts shows, galas and auctions. The Art of Elysium Online Gallery has several pieces of artwork up for sale, all the proceeds of which go to the foundation in order to support its programs.

The foundation has hosted numerous events, such as Christie's Art Auctions, the Annual HEAVEN Gala, as well as collaborations, photography and art exhibits and so on. The Art of Elysium is supported by many of Hollywood's brightest and boldest, with these celebrities sharing their time and talents in order to give a ray of hope to these children.
