Public policy sets the tone for the public and private sector principles and practices that affect every American’s life. The Keystone Policy Center is at the forefront of surmounting the obstacles that beset policy changes in several sectors including agriculture, energy, education, environment, and public health. The independent, non-profit organization also works toward the advancement of actionable and shared solutions to issues besetting these sectors, thus, ensuring that policy changes are appropriately applied via concrete actions.

Founded in 1975 by Robert Craig, a visionary and scholar in his own right, The Keystone Policy Center has been and continues to be instrumental in facilitating the positive resolution of conflicts in national policy. Today, the organization is recognized by the public and private sectors as well as the civil sector throughout the United States of American for its independent, innovative and collaborative approaches in solving issues. These approaches have been proven time and time again for its progressive and collective impact not only on the affected industry but on society as a whole.

Emphasis must be made that the Keystone Policy Center neither adopts nor advocates for a single position. Instead, it brings together the leaders and stakeholders from the public, private and civil sectors to discuss lasting solutions for shared problems. With their diverse perspectives resulting in contentious attitudes, the organization provides a neutral ground for the leaders and stakeholders to find a basis for collective action.

In the past 40 years since its founding, the Keystone Policy Center has made a name for itself and built a substantive portfolio in several areas of concern. Its programs include public engagement and outreach (e.g., small focus groups and regional outreach); joint fact-finding bodies involved in technical and scientific goals; advisory boards for other organizations toward operations improvement and creation of strategic partnerships; and leadership training.
