The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance is an organization established to advocate for women with ovarian cancer in the US. To further the goals of the organization, national-level advocacy is promoted to boost research funding for early detection tests, improve heathcare practices, and bolster life-saving treatments, alongside education efforts for healthcare professionals and the public.

As a non-profit organization, the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance was established in 1997 after leaders from five ovarian cancer institutions crossed paths because of the Ovarian Cancer Research Program by the Department of Defense and the Ovar’coming Together town hall meeting. The founding mothers of the organization, all cancer survivors, incude: Kai Binford, Bonnie Donihi, Susan Lowell Butler, Pamela Faerber, Gail Hayward, Patricia Goldman, Nancy Hines, Carolyn Marks, Ann Kolker, Rhonda Oziel, Cindy Melancon, Ceil Sinnex, Betty Reiser, and Susan Wallace.

What was just a vision then is now reality today, with the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance serving as the focal point, bringing attention to ovarian cancer through education, support, and resources.
